The infrastructure to support universal apps has only been available for a couple of weeks, but some app developers are wasting no time linking their iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps as a single. The Photo Backup Stick Universal app works with the Photo Backup Stick Universal USB drive. The drive also contains special apps for backing up from Mac computers running Mac OS 10.12 or higher. Using the Photo Backup Stick Universal is simple. Plug the USB drive into your iOS device, install and open the app, and click the backup button.
Apple has announced that it is officially launching the ability for developers to sell Mac and iOS apps as a single purchase. Apple first detailed these plans back in February, teasing that the functionality would roll out to developers in March.
Apple made the announcement in a post on its developer website this evening: Uninstall microsoft software from mac.
The macOS version of your app can now be included in a universal purchase, allowing customers to enjoy your app and in‑app purchases across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS by purchasing only once. Get started by using a single bundle ID for your apps in Xcode and setting up your app record for universal purchase in App Store Connect.
As we explained last month, the developer simply must change their Mac app to use the same bundle identifier as their iOS app. The App Store will handle the the unification process. In-app purchases can also be shared across iOS and Mac for the first time. Apple explains:
You can choose to make an in-app purchase available in multiple platform versions of your app. First create a single in-app purchase under the Features tab in App Store Connect, then use StoreKit to implement the in-app purchase in the various platform versions of your app.
The goal here is clearly to promote more adoption of the Mac Catalyst platform, which allows developers to bring iPad applications to the Mac.
One important thing to note is that despite Apple’s announcement today, there aren’t yet any applications to offer support for universal purchases between Mac and iOS. This is because Apple has not yet made the Xcode 11.4 GM available to developers.

Apple on Monday activated a new App Store feature that allows developers to include macOS versions of their apps as a universal purchase alongside iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and tvOS iterations. Clock app for mac computer.
As announced by Apple in a post to the company's developer webpage, the new capability allows customers to buy macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and tvOS versions of an app, as well as accompanying in-app purchases, with a single purchase.
Apple urges developers to prepare for universal purchase options by using bundle IDs and creating new app records for associated titles.
The launch of the new feature is in part thanks to Catalyst, Apple's solution to porting iOS apps to Mac. Relatively easy to use, the Xcode feature can technically add macOS compatibility to an iOS app with the push of a button, but the resulting Mac asset will lack platform customization.
First-party Catalyst apps, namely News, Stocks, Home and Voice Memos apps, debuted in macOS Catalina and act as a template for developers looking to transform their mobile titles to desktop.
It should be noted that developers are currently unable to pair Mac apps built with Mac Catalyst with an accompanying iOS app using bundle IDs, meaning universal purchases for Catalyst apps are not yet available. That capability will launch with Xcode 11.4.
Apple first announced universal purchase support for macOS and iOS apps in February.
